Last week I was on vacation. I already told you what I did in the first half of it. If you missed that the link to that article is below. Here's how I spent the second half of my staycation.

I didn't do much on Thursday except for a couple of things around the house. Friday Chris took the day off from work. We were going to head up to the lakes to grab some lunch and hit some of the wineries. We were checking out some of the wineries online to see what changes were in place due to Covid-19. We noticed that the tastings at some of the wineries tripled in price. They said that was due to the fact that they needed more employees on hand to help adhere to the safety measurements surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. The tastings ranged anywhere from $3 up to $10 at some of the wineries. I wasn't going to pay $10 to sample wine so we decided to go a different route.

We ended up back at Conklin Player Club and Chris and I played 18 holes by ourselves. Saturday we went back to Conklin Players Club yet again to play in the Broome County Celtic Pipes and Drum fundraising golf tournament. We played with another couple from our Monday Night League, Dave and Linda Krager.

The tournament started with the bagpipers and the drummers playing a couple of songs and then we all went out to our starting holes. We finished at 8 under which was good enough for 5th Place and we each received one around of golf with a cart at Golden Oak Golf Course as a prize. We easily could have been 11 under but eight under is very respectable and we had a blast playing with those two.

After we finished golfing, Chris and I along with Dave and Linda, went and got Aurora cones at Frosty Joe's. Chris and I stopped by Frosty Joe's and got them on the way home Friday. We were talking about doing it again after the golf tournament. When Dave and Linda heard that the Aurora cone was soft vanilla ice cream with caramel pumped inside, and then dipped to make a hard caramel shell on top, they decided they would join us.

Sunday morning we got up and went to church, then went over to Pete's Legacy Diner on Old Vestal Road for breakfast. We left there and did some shopping, and then we took a trip up to Turning Stone Casino to do some more gambling.

I had a pretty lucky week last week. After winning at Mohegan Sun the Sunday before, this past Sunday I was up round $600 at turning stone  before giving some back. But I still left with a couple hundred more than I walked in with so I'm not complaining.

All in all it was a pretty good staycation. Here's some pictures from the week.
