After losing financial backers, a production company and even the planned location for the event, Woodstock 50 continues to be hurled obstacles into the planned path to an August music festival in New York.

The county chosen as the new site for Woodstock 50 questions whether there is enough time to pull off the celebration of "Peace, Love and Music."

Organizers recently got the boot from Watkins Glen International after failing to get all the necessary permits on file and now, the alternate community in Central New York appears to be balking.

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente released a statement July 2 questioning how Vernon Downs could put together all the plans for the massive celebration of the iconic Woodstock Festival in less than a month when plans for Watkins Glen could not be nailed down after months of preparation.

Picente says he wants to ensure the safety of residents and concert-goers for the event.

Woodstock 50 had designs on 150,000 festival-goers at Watkins Glen International Speedway.  Vernon Downs Harness Track and Casino says it can host up to 65.000.

A mass gathering permit was recently filed for the Vernon Downs venue.
