The Living Environment classes under the instruction of science teacher Jesse Hartley will experiment with Tetraymena in a two-day lab session in a program coordinated by Cornell University.

The Advancing Secondary Science Education through Tetraymena or “ASSET” program at Cornell includes a brief history of what has led up to the current practices of vaping as well as the concerns that have been raised about using e-cigarettes and vaping products.

The students will be exposing the single-cell live protozoan to elements associated with the makeup of vaping products to see how the simple cells react.
