Looking for things to do in our community? Here’s what's going on around the Greater Binghamton area over the next week.

The Hungry Ear – a monthly library program presenting dramatic portrayals of celebrated short stories – will meet on Monday, August 31st at 5:30pm at the Broome County Public Library, 185 Court Street Binghamton. Free and open to the public.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier will distribute food on August 31st beginning at noon at the American Legion Post 1645 parking lot, 177 Robinson Street, Binghamton. Rain or shine … bring your own bags or cart for transport of goods. For more information call Sharon at 743-1660.

The 9th Annual Joe Caldwell Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Western Broome is taking place September 11th and is looking for sponsors, golfers and door prizes. For more information call 754-0225.

The Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church, 918 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, is having a rummage sale on September 11th and September 12th starting at 9 a.m. September 12th there will also be a Chicken Barbeque beginning at 11 a.m. with a cost of eight dollars a person for a half chicken dinner.
