What Now That the Rumble Ponies Season Has Been Canceled
Yesterday afternoon we got the news that we were expecting, but hoping would not come. Minor League Baseball announced that they are canceling the entire 2020 season. That means there will be no Binghamton Rumble Ponies games this summer at NYSEG Stadium.
I love going to Rumble Ponies Games. There's nothing like sitting there on a warm summer night with a cold beer in your hand while watching the future Major League Stars play. It doesn't matter if you go to the ballpark with kids, friends, or just your significant other, it's entertaining for people of all ages.
And since the announcement that the Binghamton Rumble Ponies would be hosting the All-Star Game in 2020, I've really been looking forward to that. Of course that got canceled many weeks ago. And this Monday was supposed to be the day that everyone that works here at the station, were going to head to the matinee game where our company pays for the food and drink while we all get to hang out outside of work.
The baseball game is only part of the entertainment at NYSEG Stadium. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, just like the Mets, always come up with creative ideas to keep you entertained before, during, and after the games.
Chris and I go to a bunch of games every summer. We enjoy the food a lot at the stadium as well. And when it comes right down to it, the food, the parking, and the tickets for the game are all reasonably priced.
I've said for years that I would rather go see minor league baseball, or even Little League baseball instead of watching a major league game. So even though Major League Baseball is set to resume in a couple of weeks, for me personally, there will be no baseball this year.
Hopefully the Rumble Ponies will be back for the 2021 season.
