My wife and I recently returned from a cruise, and having a U.S. passport was our main form of identification. Up until last year, when we decided to travel to far-away places/countries, we didn't have a passport. I'm glad we went through the process, and I plan on putting it to use often in the near future.

If you have been thinking about getting a passport for whatever reason, but it's tough to get the time during normal hours to go through the process, Broome County has another Passport Fair that may solve that problem for you.

Today, September 29, 2026, Broome County Clerk Aaron Martin announced the next Passport Fair. This event will be held on Monday, October 5th at the Maine-Endwell High School, 750 Farm to Market Road, in Endwell.

The Passport Fair will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on that day, and is more convenient for those who can't get out during normal working hours. If interested, you will need to register in advance through the  Broome County Passport Fair sign-up page.

We’re pleased to partner with Maine-Endwell High School to provide passport services to students, district employees and their families. Some customers may not be able to travel to our downtown Binghamton office during normal business hours. So, our off-site passport fairs gives them this opportunity.- Broome County Clerk Aaron Martin

The passport fair will be held in the Lecture Hall of Maine-Endwell High School. Just enter through the rear of the building near the ticket booth.

Application forms will be available, and photos can be taken on site, but if you prefer, you can download and print a digital version of the application by visiting the Travel State website.

What Do You Need To Do Before Attending the Passport Fair?

Here's what you need:

  • An original or a certified copy of your birth certificate with both parents' names and a raised seal and a photocopy (front and back), or a naturalization certificate
  • Photo ID and a photocopy (front and back), or a current non-expired government ID.
  • Two checks to cover the fees. Cash and credit cards are not accepted at passport fairs. The cost is $130 for adult applications and $100 for children under the age of 16. There is a $35 processing fee for each application and a $10 fee for each passport photo.

IMPORTANT!

Applicants will need to know the places and dates of birth of their parents to accurately complete the passport application. My wife and I learned that the hard way the first time we applied, as it delayed the process.

Children under 18 will need to be accompanied by their parents for a passport application. Also, it is advised that you and anyone else applying wear dark-colored clothing for the passport photo.
