Binghamton residents now are able to see a bit of a future movie featuring some sequences that were filmed on a downtown street.

Director Yaw Agyapong has released the first trailer for "The Cure Game." The film is set in 2030 in a chaotic world where people are dealing with a deadly pandemic.

Agyapong and executive producer Devin Richardson were in Binghamton in late August as some scenes were shot on a block of State Street north of the federal building. They provided an update on the project on WNBF's Binghamton Now program.

Agyapong and Richardson said they were pleased with the initial reaction to the movie trailer. They're looking to line up additional financing as they prepare to shoot additional scenes elsewhere.

Production on "The Cure Game" is expected to be wrapped up late next year or in early 2022. It most likely will be on a streaming service like Netflix, HBO or Showtime.
