Broome County Sheriff's officials say the driver of a tractor trailer who was being treated for serious injuries after his rig crashed on Route 11 near Trim Street in Kirkwood has died.

The crash happened at around 7:19 p.m. March 23 and Emergency Services officials say Route 11 in that area didn't reopen until about 3:30 a.m. March 24.

Sheriff's Officials say 56-year-old Gulraj S. Gill of Bakersfield, CA died from injuries he sustained

Deputies say the 2014 Freightliner owned by Streamline Express, Inc. of Bakersfield, California was traveling north on Route 11, approaching Trim Street when it went off the pavement, hit an embankment and overturned.  The truck slid on its side across Route 11, over another embankment and hit a tree.

Gill was ejected from the vehicle.
