A Unadilla man is facing several felony counts, including rape, following a reported dispute.

New York State Police say a trooper was being sent to a home on State Route 7 shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 27 for a 911 hang up call but encountered the victim with serious injuries to their face as they had driven themselves to the Sidney barracks.

Troopers say 35-year-old Randy Deese had allegedly went to the victim’s home on April 26 where a verbal dispute became physical.  Deese is accused of choking the victim, causing them to lose consciousness and forcing sexual contact.

The victim was able to call 911 the next day and drive to the State Police headquarters to seek help.

Deese was found in the City of Liberty, was taken into custody with the assistance of Troop F and the City of Liberty Police and charged with felony counts of rape, strangulation, coercion and stalking as well as misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment, forcible touching and assault.

He was sent to the Otsego County Jail on $50,000 bail.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Tri-Town Hospital for treatment.
