Two Southern Tier Counties have added to their pandemic death toll December 2.

Broome County has recorded two more deaths attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says a man in his 60s and a woman in her 80s passed away December 2, bringing the death toll to 136.  There 95 new cases of the coronavirus in Broome. Broome County’s total cases to-date stands at 5,490.

Chenango County also recorded an additional death.  The death toll in that county now stands at 11. Chenango added three cases to its tally for a total number of cases now at 652.

There were no new deaths but both Cortland and Tioga Counties added 22 new cases each.

Tioga now has 1,215 cases to date and 62 fatalities.

Cortland County has noted 1,492 cases since the start of the pandemic in March. There have been five deaths.

Delaware County December 3 reported six additional cases for a total of 396. There have been nine deaths.

State-wide, New York added over 9,800 cases to its tally for a total of 674,093 positives. There were 61 new deaths on December 2, bringing New York’s death toll to 26,955.
