I have to admit, I do a bit of online shopping. It's an easy way to get products I'm looking for. If I can get the product locally, I will do that first, or if that local business has online shopping, I may use that service since it may save me a trip to the store.

I have shopped for something I needed a couple of times on Amazon. Many of my family, friends and co-workers swear by Amazon when it comes to online shopping. Looking at their website, they do have pretty much anything you would ever need to buy.

I have an Amazon's smart speaker which I use to listen to The Whale, along with asking it to make farting noises. Yes, the childish mentality has never quite left my personality.

The Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin has reported that an Amazon distribution facility may be coming to our area. The article reports that a distribution center is already planned for Bath, NY, which is just west of Corning, and according to the Press & Sun-Bulletin, Amazon may be coming to the Town of Conklin. It's currently in the planning board and town board approval stage.

I think this would be a great addition to our area. Especially when it comes to adding more local jobs. And maybe faster delivery time for whatever items you buy on Amazon, since a distribution center would be right here. Not sure if that's how it works, though.

Bottom line, anytime we can get a great business to lay down roots in our area, it's a win for our community in many ways. If all goes well, "Welcome Amazon to the Southern Tier of New York!"
