Tioga Prepares for First COVID Vaccine Clinic
Tioga County reports it will hold its first COVID-19 vaccination clinic next week at the Owego UHS Primary Care Clinic.
The clinic is only for people in the Phase 1A priority group that includes emergency medical services personnel, agency staff and resident in congregate living facilities, medical examiners, coroners, urgent care providers, people administering vaccines, frontline high risk health care workers and home care workers.
A statement about the vaccination clinic contained in the County’s daily COVID briefing did not mention how many vaccines the county received for distribution on January 13.
Qualified Tioga County residents can register at online at the New York State Department of Health. Health officials stress the clinic is only for eligible individuals identified in Phase 1A by the state.
Appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Health officials say additional clinics are planned for the coming weeks and information will be released once it is finalized.
