Are you shopping for a new home? Maybe you are thinking about moving up to that bigger home, or downsizing to smaller digs. Does anyone say 'digs' anymore, or am I just showing my age?

If you have never owned a home before, maybe it's time to make the jump into your own home. There's nothing quite like the feeling of home ownership. Well, the bank will own it for years to come, but you know what I mean, that is unless you have the cash lying around to pay it off upfront. That would be nice, right?

But back to the real world, I remember when I started the process of looking to purchase a home. It was a mix of excitement and nervousness. For most of us it will be the biggest purchase we will ever make.

The first home I decided to put in an offer, was scooped up by another bidder, so that was a bit of a letdown, but the second home I was interested in purchasing turned out for the good. The process from start to finish is a long one, but all worth the time and effort to become a homeowner.

From time to time, I like to look online and check out homes for sale, just in case I might want to sell my home and move somewhere else. So just for kicks, I set the search on Zillow to 'price low to high' and this home was the lowest listed as of July 16th. It certainly is a fixer-upper, but for someone who likes to do just that, this home could probably turn out looking good.
