When you think about Thanksgiving, what comes to mind. For me, it was going up to my Grandma Kipps in the morning to go rabbit hunting in the fields. We would come back without a bunny more times than not but I looked forward to it every year.

We would get cleaned up and get ready for a Thanksgiving meal with the entire family. We'd bring in extra tables to that we could all fit in the same room and enjoy each other's company. grandma would say the blessing that brings a tear to my eye when I think about it now.

The men would spend the afternoon watching football and telling stories. Anyone who knows my family will tell you if we haven't told you a story three times then we haven't told it.

We would also sight in our rifles during halftime of one of the football games. The rest of the family would enjoy the time together by playing cards and board games. I didn't know it then but it was some of the best times of my life.

Thinking about it now brings a smile to my face and now we would like to put a smile on yours too. 99.1 The Whale wants you to enjoy Thanksgiving on us. Listen to The Whale  all next week (November 9-13) and when you hear the sound of the gobble be the ninth caller at (607) 723-9996
