When tragedies happen like the senseless Massacre in Las Vegas, or even like the American Civic Association shootings years ago here in Binghamton, I can't help but think about and feel thankful for the First Responders. People running towards the person with the gun, risking their own lives to save others. The EMS, ambulance crews, firemen, and police that see the devastation firsthand. A lot of them probably never witnessed that before. What has been seen cannot be unseen. I'm sure it weighs on some of them heavily. I've heard of First Reponders suffering from P.T.S.D. I think about the forensic teams that must go in and try and piece the parts back together. These are people, that everyday, leave their family and don't know if they will make it back home again at night.

I for one want to thank all First Responders. Thank you for all you do to keep us safe and help us in times of need.
