Throw back Thursday

One of the highlights of the holiday season is the television Christmas specials that remind of us of the magic of this time of year, and none more than my Throwback Thursday memory.

Since it's Thanksgiving, I wanted to flash back to 1987 with a great movie for the holidays.

Every one remembers the opening theme da da da da da (pause) da da, for six seasons American TV viewers got their weekly taste of wacky farm living in Hooterville.

The show ran from 1972 till its epic viewing finale on February 28,1983, the series captured the daily routines of a Mobile Army Surgical Unit during the Korean War.

It's the classic man on the street interviewing various people while using brief clips of popular records and songs to answer comedic questions.

From 1963 to 1970 viewers looked in on the Shady Rest Hotel in the little town of Hooterville, which sounds more like a gentlemen's club in 2015.

One of the earliest memories of my childhood is sitting in front of the old black and white TV every morning, watching Mr. Moose, Bunny Rabbit, Dancing Bear, and Mr. Green Jeans.

It was the precursor to the Love Boat, without the boat and a regular cast of characters on each segment.

One of the silliest items ever marketed back in the 1970's actually rivaled the hula hoop at the time. It was a small round plain rock, that fit the responsibility minded 1970's American.

It was one of the badass Mopars of its time, a 1970 Road Runner with a 440 six pack (3 holly 2 barrel carburetors on a high rise manifold), four speed pistol grip shifter, hooker headers, and over sized camshaft, well over 400 horse power on the street.
