Strange Brew Café is shutting down its satellite site - "Grab & Go" - on Court Street in downtown Binghamton.

Owner Alex Bartashoff said the flagship location at 137 Washington Street will continue to operate.

The Grab & Go unit at 101 Court Street opened in December 2017. The operation's final day of business will be Saturday.

The Court Street location - across from the Security Mutual Building - opened several weeks after Laveggio Roasteria moved from the site.

Bartashoff said the decision to close the smaller site was made after "looking at the general dynamic" of the business and assessing what's going on overall downtown. He said "we're always looking ahead and planning our next step."

Bartashoff said "people love our brand" as customers filled the Washington Street café at midday on Friday. That location opened in April 2016. He said sites outside Binghamton are being considered for possible future Strange Brew operations.
