One of my favorites parts of the year is Restaurant week in Greater Binghamton, another reason to enjoy some great food from our local eateries.

The event started in 2010 and is now celebrated twice a year as several small business owners put together a special menu that includes at least three items for one price.

Binghamton Restaurant Week is going on now through October 27th with 30 local food and drink establishments participating this fall.

Wednesday afternoon my wife and I went to Strange Brew 137 Washington Street in Downtown Binghamton for a lunch date.

I had been here before and Alex and his staff are very friendly, from the person taking our order to the cooks who came out and brought us our food, they actually remembered me from my last visit.

I had the Chicken & Corn Chowder for my appetizer, very good with lots of flavor I would recommend it, in fact I may go back for some take out soon.

My entree' was their signature pressed sandwich and I went right for the new item BBQ Pulled Pork, very delicious and filling, they put their house homemade coleslaw right in the sandwich.they had five other choices including Tuna, Portobello, California Club, Pulled Chicken and a Brisket Melt.

I had a cup of their house coffee which was hot and fresh just like the first cup in the morning.

This is a perfect excuse to connect with your spouse, co-workers, family or friends and enjoy a meal and conversation during Binghamton Restaurant Week.
