South City Publick House – Binghamton Restaurant Week
Binghamton Restaurant Week continues now through Thursday March 31st, and what a great concept it is. This is a great way to find out what amazing restaurants are in Binghamton and the great food choices they offer.
Take a look at all the participating restaurants, check out what they are all about and take a look at the special three or four course meals they have created, most with options for lunch and dinner.
On Thursday, I ventured out of my cubicle to visit the South City Publick House at the corner of Vestal Avenue and Washington Street. The atmosphere is very inviting, and the staff very accommodating and helpful, especially since I was having a hard time deciding what to order. Their suggestions were perfect for me.
I started with the Caprese Salad which was perfect tasting. I wanted an appetizer that would not fill me up before the main course, and this was it. For my main course, I ordered something I'd been wanting to try for a long time, but never did until now - Not Your Mama's Chicken and Waffles. Just the name makes it sound inviting. This main course consists of pan roasted bone-in chicken breast, a bacon cheddar waffle and maple hunny sweet potatoes. Impressed? Damn, right!
I did have just enough room to try the third course, which was the dessert. My selection was the warm chocolate banana bread pudding. I left nothing on the plate if that tells you how good it is.
So there you go, another great meal, prepared by a Binghamton restaurant. Check out the pictures of my meal at the South City Publick House and get out to Binghamton Restaurant Week before it ends. You will be glad you did.
