What a weekend for high school basketball fans in our area.  Congratulations to the Seton Catholic Central Saints girls basketball team !  The Saints won the NYSPHSAA championship at Hudson Valley Community College yesterday defeating Section 1's Irvington High 86-67.  Hanna Strawn led the way with 26 points and was named the MVP of the tournament.  The Saints are 26-1 and will play next weekend in the Federation tournament in Glens Falls.

At the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena in the Class C boys championship game Section 4's Moravia Blue Devils topped Lake George 54-39.  It is the school's first state basketball crown.

In the boys Class D final also in Binghamton Moriah out of Section 7 defeated Section 4 champ Newfield 61-52.  The Trojans finish with a 20-6 record.

The three-day boys tournament concludes today (Sunday) with the Class A and AA championships.  The A title contest begins at noon and features Irondequoit against Our Lady of Lourdes.  Then at 2:00 PM the Double-A Final pits Fairport against Mount Vernon.
