Regardless of what shape you are in, I'm sure you can run or walk for six-tenths of a mile, right? I mean, I'm out of shape, but even I can walk a little over a half mile.  Even if you can't, you can still do this "half-K".

This Saturday morning at 10 a.m., ACHIEVE is hosting the area's first half-K fundraiser in Norwich. They are calling it the “OverACHIEVE'rs Half-K Classic”. And unlike other charity walks and runs, this is just over half a mile long.

The event will start in downtown Norwich at Town Hall and proceed to the Northeast Classic Car Museum. At the museum, they will be holding a costume contest, food, beverages, raffles, live entertainment, and rides in classic cars. Admission to the Northeast Classic Car Museum is included in the price of your ticket.

If you still don't feel like you can make that .6-mile walk / run, you have the option of buying tickets for rides in classic cars, limos, or even a bus which will take you from the start to the finish-line.

All the money raised goes towards ACHIEVE, which advocates for enhance quality of life and independence of persons with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities throughout Broome, Chenango, and Tioga Counties.

Tickets are limited and you can get them now at ACHIEVE's website by clicking here. If you want more information on the race, or if you would like information on sponsorship opportunities, call Shari Caudell at (607) 321-5217.

If you're a fan of classic and antique cars, this would be a great way to help out a great cause while you enjoy looking at and riding in classic cars from days gone by.
