Plans Move Forward on Apartments Near Maine-Endwell High School
A Rochester-area agency is continuing its efforts to build a 115-unit apartment complex across from an Endwell school.
CDS Housing of Webster has proposed a four-story 125,000-square-foot building on Hooper Road. The project site is just south of Maine-Endwell High School.
The town of Union planning board approved the $18 million project last August.
Some people who live in an adjacent neighborhood have expressed opposition to the senior housing complex. Residents last year circulated petitions against the project.
CDS Housing has applied for a state grant to help finance the apartment development.
In an email, CDS Wolf Foundation executive director Tom DeRoller said: "We are planning on going forward with our project."
DeRoller would not answer questions regarding when construction could get underway or other aspects of the apartment complex development.
