Pet Owners Can Relate To This
Chris and I went golfing with friends on Saturday and then afterward, we went to their house for dinner. By the time we got to our house in Endicott around 9, we were both really tired. Chris went to bed early and I stayed up to watch game five of the Stanley Cup Finals. The game went into double overtime so I didn't get to bed until really late.
It felt like I had just fallen asleep when I heard Chris saying "Jim, he's going to puke. Jim he's going to puke". I was thinking to myself, this is a strange dream, until she said it for the third time. That's when I heard Hagar, our soon-to-be 11 month old Golden Retriever, making a noise like he was going to throw up.
Hagar was in between us on our bed and ended up throwing up three times on the comforter. Chris jumped up and ran to the bathroom to grab some paper towels and the pet stain removing solution. After I wiped up the vomit and Chris sprayed the comforter and cleaned it, the debate started on whether we just go to the spare bedroom and sleep for the rest of the night, or to change the sheets and the comforter right then.
I suggested that we leave it and go to the spare room for the night, but I lost that vote one to one. So we threw the comforter down on the floor and had to remake the bed before we can finally go back to sleep.
Luckily he did not get sick again for the rest of the night, but neither of us were able to fall back to sleep right away. We had the alarm set for 6:00 so we could go to church. It felt like the alarm started going off 15 minutes after I fell back asleep.
