Previously, voters could request the ballot in an online application but those applications must be received by the state no later than 5 p.. May 10.

Meanwhile, the issue over whether Pennsylvania’s mail-in ballot law that was approved in 2019 is constitutional is still being debated by the state’s Supreme Court.

In spite of the measure initially being approved by a Republican-majority legislature, a G.O.P. lawsuit argued lawmakers didn’t have the constitutional right to make changes to allow for voting by mail without an approved excuse.

Until a ruling is made, the no-excuses mail-in voting rule remains in place. It’s not known when the Justices may make a decision.
