No Arrests in Vandalism Cases on Binghamton’s West Side

Binghamton police are investigating a series of vandalism incidents at buildings on the West Side of the city.

In recent days, windows have been broken and graffiti has been spray-painted at businesses along a section of Main Street.

The message "Black Lives Matter" was scrawled on a wall at a laundromat at the corner of Main and Edwards streets.

Similar graffiti was painted on the side of a neighboring building housing a construction business. The owner of that property said that incident apparently happened sometime Tuesday night.

Owners of the laundromat could not be reached for comment. Signs posted in the entrances to the business advised that it was "Closed for Good."

The windows and doors of 5 Star Nails Tanning and Spa at 106 Main Street were boarded up. A spray-painted message on the sidewalk in front of the closed business read: "Justice 4 George."

A phone number for the business was disconnected.
