What a difference a week makes. Last weekend, we were wearing coats, getting drenched with rain, and I was wearing boots and carrying an umbrella while walking my dogs at the campground where I have a seasonal site.

This weekend will be just the opposite. The National Weather Service in Binghamton is currently (6/4 - 2pm) calling for sun and a high in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday. Oh, and add in winds of 7 to 15 miles per hour on Saturday with the possibility of gusts up to 25 miles per hour.

So, it's safe to say it will be hot, and probably humid as well. Don't we always go from too cold to too hot once we hit the month of June? It certainly seems so. I bet there will be a run on air-conditioners and fans this weekend.

Aside from doing your best to keep your home as cool as possible, there are many other ways to get your cool on in the Southern Tier. If you don't have your own backyard pool, you can cool off in one of many local public pools. CFJ Park in Johnson City has a spray park that the kids and maybe even you will enjoy.

Or how about a dip in one of the lakes at one of our many beautiful area parks? And there are many other fun things to do at our area parks in addition to cooling off in the water. Let's take a look at a few cool ideas I thought of that might make your weekend more enjoyable.
