Tomorrow, (Tuesday) is one of the scheduled Senior Days at The Great New York State Fair. Senior citizens 60 and over get into the Fair for free. With temperatures expected to be in the 90s tomorrow with high humidity, and the upper 80s on Wednesday, the heat index will be near 100 degrees both days. With that in mind, the New York State Fair has added a third senior day to this year's fair. The additional Senior Day will be this Thursday, August 30th. That way seniors can enjoy the fair on a day where temperatures are not expected to be as hot. According to WBNG Storm Track 12 meteorologist Brian Schroeder, Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 78.

On the New York State Fair website, Acting Fair Director Troy Waffner reminded Fair-goers that they can bring bottles of water from home and that they can be filled for free at water filling stations which are available in most buildings on the fairgrounds. When the temperatures are so high and the humidity is high as well, it is important that you stay hydrated. Drink extra water and try and stay in the shade as much as you can.

Waffner also said that the fair will be bringing in more misting stations to cool people off and if anyone shows signs or symptoms of heat-related illnesses, they should call 911, notify one of the State Troopers on the fairground, or notify a Fair employee to get help. Signs of heat-related illness include; being light-headed, headaches, vomiting, nausea, and muscle cramps.
