New Target Date for Opening of Endwell Byrne Dairy Store

The second Byrne Dairy & Deli store in Broome County is expected to be open for business after an electrical contractor has finished needed electrical system upgrades.

Construction work on the new location at Watson Boulevard and North Kelly Avenue in Endwell was completed weeks ago. But needed power supply improvements to the site were delayed because crews had been diverted to Florida following Hurricane Ian.

Byrne Dairy initially had planned to open the Endwell store on October 12. Site preparation and construction went according to schedule. But the opening was put on hold when contract crews were unable to complete the necessary electrical work.

In recent days, workers from the utility company Riggs Distler have been busy installing upgraded power lines in area near the Bryne Dairy store.

Byrne Dairy vice president Christian Brunelle told WNBF News Friday afternoon "we're ready." He said he expects the electrical work will be completed on Monday or Tuesday.

If that happens, Brunnelle said the store should be able to open on November 16.

The first Binghamton-area Byrne Dairy store opened in Endicott in May. The company also has unveiled plans for additional stores on Front Street in the town of Chenango and on Route 11 in Whitney Point.
