Sunday is Easter. It’s the biggest day of the year in the Catholic Religion, (and some others). It’s the day where we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead and going to heaven. I had a friend of mine that’s not Catholic ask me about it, so I figured I would share.

It’s not just one day though, this whole week is called “Holy Week”. Thursday we celebrate the last supper (I’m sure you’ve seen the picture), It was the last Passover meal Jesus had with his disciples. Then Friday is Good Friday, that’s the day that he was crucified and died. Then Saturday is Holy Saturday, we have a special service for that at night that starts by candle light. Then Sunday is Easter, the day he rose from the dead and ascended in to heaven.

As of Sunday, lent will be over and I will be able to each chips, candy and ice-cream again. That is what I gave up for lent.

That’s an abbreviated version of it. If you want to learn more, you can do some research on line.

I wonder if the Nuns that taught me, or in some cases, beat me in grade school are proud of this? Probably not!

Happy Easter!
