Where To Find Easter Egg Hunts In The Southern Tier
Happy Easter week. Easter Sunday is this Sunday, April 17th. I like to surprise my wife each year with an Easter basket full of candy. This year, she politely told me to stop. What, no candy? Maybe it's because I end up eating most of it. Maybe I'll color some eggs and hide them around the house. Or maybe that would be a bad idea as well.
And while I'm on the subject of Easter eggs, there are several Easter egg hunts happening in the Southern Tier of New York this week. One of them will be at Recreation Park on the westside of Binghamton, in memory of Harpur Stanz, organized by the Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton.
This Easter egg hunt will be held from 10 am to 12 noon, Saturday, April 16th. It's a free event with refreshments, music, and prizes, plus the Recreation Park carousel will be in operation during the event. There will be 30,000 Easter eggs scattered throughout Recreation Park. The hunt for all those Easter eggs will begin at 11 a.m. And we hear the Easter Bunny will make an appearance as well at the event, which will be held rain or shine.
And that's not the only Easter egg hunt happening in the Southern Tier of New York. There are several others that may be closer to where you live. Check out these Easter egg events that may be happening near you, compiled by our talented intern Betsy Warner.
