Until COVID-19 halted summertime events all around the world in 2020, the Montrose Blueberry Festival was an event that both locals and visitors looked forward to and attended year after year.

The Montrose Blueberry Festival was created in 1980 and through the years, it became a massive fundraiser for the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers had to cancel the Blueberry Festival in 2020 and again in 2021.
Today, the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association are pleased to announce that the much-loved Blueberry Festival will return to Montrose in 2022. Since October of 2021, a special committee has been meeting to work on plans to ensure the Blueberry Festival is able to return in this August.
In order for the Blueberry Festival to be able to return as big as it was before the days of COVID, volunteers are needed. Anyone interested in lending a hand is asked to email blueberryfestival@susqcolibrary.org. Please be sure to include your name and phone number so that someone can get in touch with you.
The Montrose Blueberry Festival features treat such as blueberry pies and muffins, ice cream, and more. There are also loads of blueberry-themed gifts available for purchase as well as vendors, live music, activities for children, a book sale, silent auction, and much more.
The Montrose Blueberry Festival will take place at the Village Green on Friday, August 5, and Saturday, August 6, 2022, and all proceeds will benefit the Susquehanna County Historical Society and Free Library Association.
