‘Any flooding is major flooding when it’s your house.’ That sentiment from a local resident cleaning up from a recent bout of high water is being echoed by many other Southern Tier residents as the area looks at the possibility of more, possibly heavy rain.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton says wet and unsettled weather is expected again September 26.

Locally heavy rainfall is possible which could cause isolated flash flooding especially across the Southern Tier and Northeast Pennsylvania where soil conditions are already wet.

Also, in the afternoon, thunderstorms along a cold front may contain gusty winds.

Residents are reminded to monitor the forecast for updates and be prepared to take action should flooding occur.
