Man Arrested After Being Found Asleep in Parked Car in Port Crane
A Broome County man faces several charges after he and a woman were discovered sleeping in a parked vehicle in the town of Fenton.
Authorities say 31-year-old Louis Mulieri of Nineveh was found asleep by a sheriff's deputy who was sent to check on a couple of people who appeared to be unconscious. The car was parked outside a business on Route 369 in Port Crane.
According to a sheriff's office news release, Mulieri was taken into custody after he performed poorly on sobriety field tests. He was found to be in possession of of drug called dextroamphetamine.
Mulieri was taken to the sheriff's office for processing and then he was transported to Binghamton General Hospital. Officials say medical staff administered several doses of naloxone to revive him after he lost consciousness.
Mulieri has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, criminal possession of controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He also was charged with several violations.
