Local Police Hit New Heights for Good Cause
Law enforcement officers are rising to new heights to benefit Special Olympics.
Cops on Top August 2 perches police on the roofs of Dunkin’ restaurants to raise awareness and collect donations.
Local sites include Upper Front Street, Binghamton.. Reynolds Road, Johnson City.. Route 434, Apalachin.. Park Street, Owego and East River Road in Bainbrige.
The fundraiser goes until 11 a.m. August 2.
All the donations raised today go directly to Special Olympics that serves more than 67-thousan athletes around New York with year-round sports training, competition and health screenings.
Also, Dunkin is presenting a $15,000 check from the Joy in Childhood Foundation to Special Olympics New York. The foundation has raised 332-thousand dollars since 2012.
