Kopernik Space and Science Center is celebrating the planned launch of the first manned space mission from U.S. soil, piloted by Southern Tier native Colonel Doug Hurley, with special livestream coverage.

The Vestal observatory has been granted access to the NASA feed on their YouTube Channel.  The livestream starts at 3 p.m. May 27 and will feature Kopernik Educator Roy Williams.

WATCH LIVE DOWN BELOW:

To watch the local program, go to the Kopernik Observatory YouTube channel and click on the subscribe button.  When you see the “Live” button on the left side of the dashboard, click on it and you will be able to join the feed.  The launch itself is scheduled for 4:33 p.m.

The launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo 2 rocket is the first crewed flight from U.S. soil cine 2011, also piloted by Apalachin’s Doug Hurley.

During his pre-launch briefing, Williams will provide information about the Falcon-9 Rocket, Crew Dragon Capsule and a short mission overview.
