The NBA preseason officially starts tonight for the New York Knicks, as they introduce the Madison Square Garden crowd to the new team.

Knicks fans will get to see the next phase in Phil Jackson's revamp of a team that just had it's worst season in franchise history with 65 losses and only 17 wins.

I am excited to see the new players, which include our number one draft pick, Kristaps Porzingis, rookie Jerian Grant, and free agents Robin Lopez, Kyle O'Quinn, Derrick Williams, and when he's healthy Arron Affalo, who will not play tonight because of a hamstring issue.

How will this group of talent fit in with some of last year's roster including Knicks franchise player Carmelo Anthony, Jose Calderon, Cleanthony Early, Lance Thomas and Langston Galloway? Well I guess we'll see!

Tonight's preseason match up is against the Brazilian professional basketball team, Bauru.

I am looking for team chemistry, how well do these players communicate, who is playing for the team, or just showboating.

Phil Jackson has a certain mentality that he instills into his players, unlike the past several years of paying out a boatload of money to a couple of free agents who come to camp out of shape and demonstrate a bad attitude throughout the season.

Phil has stripped the team of overpaid underachievers, and is trying to create a total team mentality, which includes passing the ball to the open man and helping out on defense.

I am excited about this season, and like most of you, I look for this kind of team chemistry.

Let's go Knicks!
