The players have been selected from draft picks to free agents, and tonight the battle begins as the Knicks open their season in Milwaukee.

Coming off the worse season in franchise history, and what was called a season to rebuild, the 82 game regular season will end in April with 16 teams headed for the post season.

Phil Jackson's philosophy is simple, he picks players based on their ability to play great basketball, and play as a team with the goal of winning, no matter who has the ball in their hands.

He has selected a group of young men who are in the right stages of their careers to play team basketball. They went 4 and 2 in the six game preseason, and showed signs in all the areas I just mentioned.

I can usually gauge how a team will start out the season, but since we haven't seen a complete team to team matchup yet. Give me a few games to access the matchups.

I think it will take a few games to get these guys playing as a unit, and I also expect some good things from the rookies. But, the stage is set and the show begins at 8pm tonight as the 2015-16 New York Knicks tip off against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Go Knicks!
