Horseheads Native Joey Sindelar To Give 20 Local Kids A Christmas They’ll Never Forget

It's been a Christmas tradition for the past 11 years and it's back again this year. PGA TOUR Champions Professional, Joey Sindelar from Horseheads will play Santa for 20 local children in our area.

Broome County Community Charities and DICK'S Sporting Goods are teaming up again to "Shop with Joey Sindelar." On Wednesday, December 15th, 20 children from local Boys and Girls Club will go on a Christmas shopping spree at DICK'S Sporting Goods in Vestal.

The kids were picked based on need by the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome and the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton. They will be given $200 each, courtesy of DICK'S Sporting Goods, and are encouraged to get necessities like boots, jackets, and sneakers.

The 12th annual event will start at 5:30 p.m. with a pizza party and then let the shopping begin. I love Christmas and golf and when the two come together, it makes me smile. Changing the hearts and minds of the kids in the Southern Tier brings an even bigger smile to my face.

Joey Sindelar and the rest of the PGA TOUR Champions will be coming back for the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie Golf Course from August 15th through August 21st.
