This week would have been the Dick's Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie in Endicott. I had already put in to take the week off from the Whale so I can get my yard and house ready for visitors, and also so I could volunteer all week at the PGA Champions Tour event.

It was announced months ago that the Dick's Sporting Goods Open was canceled due to COVID-19. Not that anybody that works for the Dick's Sporting Goods Open had the virus, but with the uncertainty of everything going on in New York State at the time the plug was pulled, they were falling behind in the preparations for the event.

The PGA Champions Tour decided to use the dates that would have been the Dick's Sporting Goods open for a Senior Championship in Ohio. Being that Chris and I have become good friends what's some of the staff from the PGA, we were toying with the idea of going to Ohio this week to volunteer as walking scores at the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship.

We were looking forward to seeing the pros play, and more importantly, seeing our friends from the PGA. But with the Coronavirus pandemic, and Ohio being placed on the list of states with travel bans to New York, we decided to turn it into a stay-cation instead. I was still going to take this week off, but a couple of things popped up on the schedule for Chris so I decided to push it back one week.

So instead of being there in person, I'll be watching the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship on TV, and hopefully playing a lot of golf myself next week.
