Homemade Explosive Disrupts Conklin Avenue Neighborhood
A Binghamton man is accused of causing a great deal of alarm in a Conklin Avenue neighborhood over the weekend with a do-it-yourself firework.

Authorities, including the SWAT team, responded to a report of possible gunshots in the 100-block of Conklin at around 1:30 p.m. May 18 and converged on an apartment building.
Police say they have charged Timothy Boulton with disorderly conduct for allegedly setting off a homemade firework on the first floor of the apartment building.
There were no reports of injuries but the large police response disrupted traffic in the area for several hours.
