I still remember what a big deal it was when Hershey released their last bar in 1995. I was 15-years-old and in the hallways of my high school, my classmates did everything they could to trade or bargain whatever they had to get their hands on the then brand new Hershey bar.

Until the Cookies n' Creme bar was released,  there'd only ever been two other bars to carry the name of Hershey. They were the original milk chocolate bar, which was introduced in 1900. And the Special Dark bar, which was released in 1939.

For the last 22 years, the Cookies 'n Creme bar has been the new kid in town, but it'll soon be replaced with something fresh out of the Hershey factory.  On December 1, 2017, the Hershey company will unveil to the world their new Hershey's Gold which is exceptionally special because it contains no chocolate.

The new bars are a caramelized creme that features salty peanut and pretzel bits to give consumers a sweet, buttery taste that is topped off with a creamy and crunchy finish. '

While these bars aren't in stores just yet, I was able to get my hands on one and invited my friend Glenn to taste test it with me.
