Golf With Jim Free Next Saturday

Next Saturday you can golf in the same tournament with me. It's a golf tournament that's close to my heart. It's the annual Our Lady of Good Counsel Golf Tournament taking place at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott.

I'm on the committee for this golf tournament because it helps to support the outreach programs at my church. These programs include the C.Y.O. programs like boys and girls basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and more.

A portion of the proceeds also go toward feeding the hungry in the Binghamton area by supporting our soup kitchen at our church. Our soup kitchen is held every Friday night in the basement of the church and my wife Chris and I are cooks on one of the teams of volunteers.

Money raised also helps to fill the food pantry at our church which is open to everyone regardless of their religious beliefs.

It's $90 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast for the morning flight, and a snack for the afternoon flight, a dinner after the tournament in the church's gym across the street from the golf course, and prizes. The food afterward is catered by Russ Rodriguez and his company Orlando's Catering and it's awesome.

There is a morning and afternoon flight and plenty of contests too including longest drive, closest-to-the-pin, and a chance to win a car with a hole-in-one. There's also a chance for you to win some huge prizes with the big board contest and skins will be available as well.

It's not too late to get your team signed up and there are sponsorship packages available as well. So if you are into golf, why not get a team together and golf with us? You will have a great time as you help feed the hungry in our area and help kids to learn the importance of teamwork through sports.
