The latest recall according to the United States Food and Drug Administration is for a certain brand of strawberries and fruit blends.
Willamette Valley Fruit Co, Salem, OR is voluntarily recalling select packages of frozen fruit containing strawberries grown in Mexico due to the potential for Hepatitis A contamination. - U.S. FDA
The U.S. FDA notes that Hepatitis A is a contagious liver disease that results from exposure to the Hepatitis A virus, including from food. A person with the Hepatitis A virus can experience anything from a mild to serious illness. Persons who may have consumed these products listed in the voluntary recall, should consult with their health care professional or local health department.
The brand name is Great Value and Rader Farms. These products are sold in various stores including select Walmart stores located in New York, Pennsylvania and 30 other states. For the products sold at Walmart between January 24, 2023 to June 8, 2023:
