Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says he has gotten word that in addition to allowing service inside establishments at limited occupancy and physical spacing, bands will be allowed to return to establishments.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is offering a word of caution for businesses as more and more are allowed to reopen after weeks of shutdown to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic: Follow the rules.

Cuomo says restaurants and bars that violate occupancy and other rules could lose their liquor license or right to operate altogether.  He says “Short-term gain isn’t worth long-term pain.”

The governor says complaints have been filed by concerned citizens over things like restaurants that were only allowed outdoor dining to try to get around that by leaving windows and doors open.

He says some owners have even tried to justify skirting the regulations outlined on the state dashboard by saying they heard from a relative or friend that “it was okay.”

Another sign of a return to some degree of normal is that New York State announced and garage sales are okay to set up in neighborhoods all over regions that have been cleared for phase two and phase three reopening.

Masks must be worn and gatherings are limited to ten people with physical distancing of six feet.
