A Broome County resident was arrested after a vehicle was pulled over for multiple traffic violations in the city of Cortland.

Authorities say 20-year-old David Welch of Endicott was charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana. He also was cited for unreasonable speed, driving across a hazard marking and backing unsafely.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, Welch was stopped on Wheeler Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Welch was released on appearance tickets. He was ordered to appear in Cortland city court on February 19.
