The Broome County Health Department has issued an advisory concerning a worker at the Sam's Club store in Vestal who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The department released a statement late Friday afternoon regarding the store on the Vestal Parkway.

The advisory is directed at people who were in the store on May 4 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or May 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are urged to contact their healthcare provider if they develop COVID-19 symptoms, including cough, fever and shortness of breath.

The 14-day incubation period will be over on May 21. According to the advisory, the Sam's Club employee has not worked since May 7 and did not work while symptomatic.

According to Broome County officials, 23 people have died of COVID-19 locally over the last seven weeks.
