According to the Broome County Executive's Office, Monday July 10th, Dream Flights will be making a stop at the Greater Binghamton Airport. Dream Flights is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring senior military veterans.

A number of senior military World War II and Korean War veterans will get to take flight at no cost to them, in a fully restored WWII Boeing Stearman biplane. According to Dream Flights, these biplanes are the same aircraft that were used to train many military aviators in the late thirties and early forties.

The experience for the veterans lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, World War II veterans will be invited to sign the plane, and may be inspired to share their stories. Dream Flights notes that they collect, preserve and share the stories of how the veteran flyers survived through times of great strife to remind all of us of our shared humanity, our connection to each other and the value of listening.

Dream Flights has conducted over 6,000 flights by pilots who donate their time. For the Dream Flight at the Greater Binghamton Airport, this event will be piloted by the President, Founder, and Third-Generation Pilot of Dream Flights organization, Darryl Fisher.

This Dream Flight is supported by the Twin Tiers Honor Flight organization. For more information on the Dream Flights organization visit their website page and on Facebook.
