Written and recorded by Bob Marley and the Wailers in 1973, it's a song about injustice. In the singer's words, it's also about false accusations when it came to the Deputy.

Eric Clapton covered the song in 1974 and it hit number one on the Billboard Top 100! Clapton's version was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
