🎥 WATCH: Political Gaffes Sure To Make Any New Yorker Laugh
I don't make a habit of talking about politics on the radio. I prefer to entertain through some humor and lots of music. Besides, I'm not the most educated when it comes to the subject of politics and I'm not a fan of debate either.
But no matter what side of the fence you are on in the political world, sometimes we can just put our differences aside and chuckle at some of the things that politicians do, no matter what party they represent. And a couple of examples occurred recently, one from a Democrat and one from a Republican.
Both of these are harmless and we have to realize that politicians are just as human as we are, except that anything that happens out of the ordinary, will get more eyes than someone like you or me.
The first is a Tweet from Ron Filipkowski highlighting Doctor Mehmet Oz, who is the Republican nominee for the United State Senate in Pennsylvania for 2022. Dr. Oz visited a grocery store last April, referring as a "Wegner's" grocery store. Not Wegmans. Wegner's
Not sure if there's such a store name in Pennsylvania, but there are two Pennsylvania supermarkets with names close to it - Redner’s Markets and Wegmans. I suppose it is human to mix up the name of a business. I have done it from time to time.
Redner's Markets are located in the eastern portion of Pennsylvania from Scranton to Philadelphia. Wegmans has locations in Pennsylvania along with six other states and Washington D.C. Take a look below and see if you can figure out what supermarket Dr. Oz is at. It doesn't look like a Wegmans to me. But apparently, just like most people in the Southern Tier do, Wegmans was at least a little bit on his mind.
And for the second embarrassing moment, after the Inflation Reduction Act bill was signed by President Joe Biden, congratulations were all around...sort of.
In this Tweet from Kevin Frey, the President claps his hands along with others present, and Democratic U.S. Senator Charles Schumer offers his hand in congratulations. But the President appears to shun him and turns to shake hands with others to his left. Who among us hasn't ever been left hanging?
Was it intentional or did Joe Biden not see Chuck offer his hand in congratulations? Maybe he didn't want to interrupt Chuck's clapping. It's funny just the same. You be the judge.
