Next week would have been the annual Grecian festival at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Vestal. The annual event usually runs Thursday through Sunday the last week of May or the first week of June.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the festival is not taking place next week. However, according to a post on their website, there is a slight chance that the festival could be rescheduled to later this summer or even early fall.

I sure hope they can hold the Greek Fest at some point this year. The annual celebration features awesome Greek food including Gyros, mousaka, spanakopita, baklava, Greek salads, and of course the awesome Honey Puffs.

While attending the event you are entertained by Greek dancers, Greek Music, Plus there is a Marketplace with gift baskets and more. Every year, Chris, Ian, and I attend the event at least one day. The three of us enjoy the food, Ian and I enjoy the Greek beer and Chris always gets her bottle of Greek wine.

Whether or not we save room for them, we have to get a large order of Honey Puffs before we leave. We always say we're going to take them home, but after more beer and wine, they are usually gone by the time we get back in our car.

The Greek Festival is just one of many awesome church festivals in the Greater Binghamton area. The Greek Fest is usually the first one, followed by Saint Anthony's Bazaar in Endicott that serves up awesome Italian food, the St. Joe's in Endicott, St. Mary's in Binghamton and so on.

It's going to be a strange summer if don't get to enjoy any of these great local events
